Viola M Berard School 

For students struggling in public school classrooms due to emotional disturbances and behavioral challenges. VMB school offers a supportive and flexible environment that allows staff and students to work cooperatively to learn the skills of emotional regulation and change, and eliminate and replace behaviors that have impeded learning and progression in the public school. Within this therapeutic environment, basic academics are integrated into the day so students progress to their ability to maintain grade level.

  • Coordination with Sending School for Transition Back to Sending School 
  • School to Work Transition Plans for 14 and Older Students (links with CCA youth employment and adult employment programs)

Referral Process

We accept referrals from Local Education Authorities (LEAs) throughout Rhode Island, and nearby Massachusetts and Connecticut at any time throughout the year.
