Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) Program Volunteer Opportunities

The VITA program provides free Income Tax Preparation for low-moderate income individuals and families. The program saves people hundreds of dollars on tax prep fees, and helps them access Earned Income Tax Credit and other benefits for which they are eligible to help stabilize themselves and their families.

 We are currently seeking volunteers to assist our efforts to provide this valuable service.

Tax Preparation Volunteers -  These volunteers, who are Certified by the IRS, receive extensive training and support before they work with clients to prepare taxes. Volunteers are asked to be available on a regular basis 1-2 times a week during peak tax prep season from February through early April. Day, evening, and weekend appointment times are available. Individuals with a background in finance and basic level of tax knowledge are encouraged to contact us.

Client Intake Volunteers - These volunteers assist with the intake process by verifying intake sheets and making copies of all supporting documentation. Orientation and training is provided. Volunteers are asked to be available on a regular basis 1-2 times per week during peak tax prep season from February through early April.
