CCA Presents Awards at Annual Meeting
Over 120 people attended the Community Care Alliance (CCA) 128th Annual Meeting on June 26th at St. Ann Arts & Cultural Center in Woonsocket, including Board of Directors, staff, Friends of CCA, and invited guests from the community. Board Chair, Lynda A. Stein, Ph.D., led the business meeting, in which the slate of Directors and Officers was approved unanimously, effective July 1, 2019. CCA Board of Directors also affirmed the appointment of Directors to Boards of affiliated HUD Borrowers Corporations.
Benedict F. Lessing, Jr., President/CEO made the address highlighting new innovative initiatives that promote social justice. The Paul H. Dempster Award, CCA’s highest commendation, was given posthumously to Myléne Serrecchia, who showed compassion daily and was beloved by those her life touched. She was a Social Worker at Tides Family Services. Michael Schmitt, Assistant Vice President of Risk Management at Tides, presented the award to her parents, Raymond and Michelle Serrecchia. They will also receive a Congressional Citation from Rep. David Cicilline. Ubuntu Awards to honor CCA staff persons who embody the spirit of humanity toward others was presented to Betty Verducci, Human Resources Assistant, and Daniel Barbosa, Enhanced Outpatient Services Team Manager. Ubuntu recipients are nominated and chosen by staff.
