Safe Visiting Spaces
Evergreen Assisted Living staff and clients had 3 rounds of COVID surveillance tests in June. Their mask-wearing, social distancing, and hand washing has paid off as the results have come back with all negatives.
Assisted Living Residences have been given the green light for visitations starting July 8th, and to accommodate social visits a new outdoor area has been set up. Here, residents may spend 30 minutes with a family member or friend. The space may also be used for visits with caseworkers.
The residents are excited to start seeing family and friends again but have expressed sadness that they are unable to return fully to their regular routines. Everyone in the house and any visitors are required to wear masks and maintain 6 feet distance from each other.
This weekend, a much missed BINGO game is in the plans, and if all goes well with following COVID protocols, the game will be something to look forward to in the months ahead.
Evergreen Assisted Living is a program of Community Care Alliance.
