Young Adult Employment & Culinary Program Enrolling
The Harbour YouthWorks411 Center at Community Care Alliance is currently enrolling for three programs for youth/young adults. The Workforce Investment Opportunity Act (WIOA) Program provides academic and career assistance to young adults ages 16-24 in northern Rhode Island who are recent high school graduates or pursuing their GED. Participants may qualify for a ten week paid internship and cash incentives for completing program benchmarks over the course of a year. Participants must also be low-income and receiving SNAP benefits or another type of public assistance.
Enrollment is also available for a new Culinary Program. This 4-week hands-on training program teaches what to know to begin in the culinary field. Training is followed by a paid internship and could lead to permanent job placement. Participants must be 18 or older, out of school and eligible for the WIOA program mentioned above.
Enrollment is also open for the Greater Woonsocket 2016 Youth Summer Jobs Program, a 6-week summer program for youth and young adults ages 14 to 24 residing in Woonsocket, North Smithfield, Cumberland, Lincoln, and Burrillville. All prospective participants and their parent or guardian (if under 18) can pick up an application at The Harbour YouthWorks411 Center. Woonsocket High School students can pick up an application during lunches from Youth Center representatives, Beth Killian or David Magrane.
Return applications directly to The Harbour YouthWorks411 Center Monday, Tuesdays and Fridays from 9am-5pm or Wednesdays and Thursdays from 9am-7pm, at 65 Main Street, Woonsocket.
