Community Care Alliance is a licensed Community Mental Health Center (CMHC) with the RI Department of Behavioral Health, Developmental Disabilities and Hospitals (BHDDH), and Department of Health; and is a nationally Certified Community Behavioral Health Clinic (CCBHC). CCA maintains accreditation with Social Current and Healthy Families America.Â
We are also a licensed Community Action Program agency and a member of the Rhode Island Community Action Association.

CCBHCs were created through the “Excellence in Mental Health and Addiction Act” as an initiative to expand access to behavioral healthcare in America. That means you will receive the highest quality of care available, incorporating proven, effective treatment for substance use and mental health disorders.
CCBHCs must meet standards for the range of services they provide, and they are required to get people into care quickly.
As a CCBHC we provide individuals with the services they need, when they need them—regardless of their age, insurance status or ability to pay.
Accreditation by Social Current (formerly the Council on Accreditation) signifies that Community Care Alliance is effectively managing its resources and providing the best possible services to the people we serve. In order to achieve accreditation, Community Care Alliance had to pass a stringent set of standards that are designed to provide a framework to manage resources, offer best practices, and strive for continuous improvement. The actions required to meet these standards support our organization’s sustainability, encourages its growth, and helps us to achieve measurable results.
