Wilson House Community Outreach: Bringing Support to Pawtucket

Since October, Wilson House has been actively engaging the Pawtucket community through monthly events funded by an Opioid Settlement Fund grant from the City of Pawtucket. These events are intended to connect with individuals not currently in treatment, with a focus on harm reduction, overdose prevention, and offering pathways to recovery for those ready to seek help.

This project aims to serve with our community in ways that are authentic, grassroots, and not confined to treatment settings. So far, Wilson House has collaborated with: Gateway Healthcare, Living Hope International Church, Project Weber/Renew, The Pawtucket Farmer’s Market, and CODAC Behavioral Healthcare. This July, they teamed up with BHG (Behavioral Health Group) to host a vibrant Community Cookout. The event featured food, games, friendly goats, and resource tables providing essential information about local treatment options and harm reduction strategies. These events continue to build trust, raise awareness, and create connections between service providers, and most importantly, engagement of those who might otherwise remain unsupported.

“This grant has given us the opportunity to get to know our community partners in a meaningful way- through service. Sharing resources with other organizations that are next to us in the trenches has been a blessing; we’ve made new friends, have stronger partnerships, and reached hundreds of Pawtucket residents that may have never walked through our doors.” Jess Elliott Director of Substance Use Services, Acute Services Division Wilson House Community Outreach: Bringing Support to Pawtucket
