Who can go to a CCBHC? Are services provided to children?
CCBHCs are required to serve anyone who requests care for mental health or substance use, regardless of their ability to pay, place of residence, or age. This includes developmentally appropriate care for children and adolescents.
CCBHCs must meet standards for the range of services they provide and are required to get people into care quickly.
How can a CCBHC help me if I’m in crisis?
If you feel that you are in crisis, call our 24/7 emergency line, 401-235-7120, or dial 988.
A staff person will ask questions to determine the appropriate level of response (appointment, walk-in, mobile crisis response, or need for emergency response with an ambulance).
Do I need to have health insurance to go to a CCBHC?
No, you do not need to have health insurance to access services at a CCBHC. If you do have health insurance through Medicaid, HealthSource RI, or an employer, staff at the CCBHC will collect your insurance information.
When shouldn’t I seek care at a CCBHC?
If you are experiencing a health emergency like severe chest pain, trouble breathing, seizures, or a head injury call 911 or go to the emergency room right away. You should also call 911 if you or someone you care about are in immediate danger of injury or self-harm.
